Epic Universe on a UK budget
Epic Universe is Universal's newest park. Getting there doesn't need to cost a thing if your International Drive hotel runs the free shuttle. Here's how to get there cheaply, which UK tickets cover it, and the costs to plan for.
First-hand: on Wednesday 21 Oct 2026 we're taking the free 8:50am shuttle from the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando on I-Drive to Epic Universe. Everything below is from official pages, checked 20 Oct 2026. Where you see "we're checking this", we'll add what we found on the day.
Quick version
- Free: Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando's Epic Universe shuttle leaves at 7:20, 8:50 and 11:05am. You must book a seat in person in the hotel lobby, up to 24 hours ahead.
- Cheap: the LYNX Link 311 bus runs from I-Drive (by the Convention Center) to Epic Universe. It's $2 a ride (≈ £1.50), exact change only.
- Both UK 14-day Universal tickets (All Parks and Three Park Adventure) include Epic Universe. Older tickets may not, so check yours.
- Express Pass costs extra: from £123 for one day at Epic, depending on the date, on Universal's UK store.
- Lockers are free while you ride Stardust Racers, Monsters Unchained and Hiccup's Wing Gliders. All-day lockers cost extra.

Getting there from International Drive
1. The free hotel shuttle (Universal Partner Hotels)
Some I-Drive hotels are Universal Partner Hotels and run free scheduled buses to Universal. Epic Universe is on its own site, separate from Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, so it gets its own departures. Here's what each hotel publishes:

- It isn't on demand. The Rosen Inn's buses run to fixed times based on normal park hours. They don't run for special events, groups or early park admission. The bus also stops at other hotels, so allow extra time Rosen Inn.
- Book the day before. Reservations open 24 hours ahead, in person only. Wheelchair users should book at the same desk, because each departure has space for only one mobility aid Rosen Inn.
- Staying elsewhere? Universal lists its partner hotels, and many of them are on or near I-Drive Universal Partner Hotels. Ask yours whether its shuttle goes to Epic Universe or only to the original parks.
- Times change. These are the schedules printed on each hotel's site on 20 Oct 2026. Check the lobby desk before you rely on them.

2. The LYNX bus: $2 each way
LYNX Link 311 (Disney / Orlando Airport / Universal Epic Universe) stops on International Drive at Destination Parkway, by the Orange County Convention Center, and at Universal Epic Universe LYNX schedule book. A single ride is $2 (≈ £1.50), and an all-day pass is $4.50 (≈ £3.37). Have the exact fare ready, because drivers can't give change. Buy the all-day pass from the driver before you put money in the fare box LYNX fares LYNX.
In April 2026, LYNX said it was reducing service to the Epic Universe bus loop LYNX service change. Check the Link 311 timetable for your day, and especially the last bus back.
3. Waymo, Uber or Lyft
We've ridden Waymo from I-Drive to Universal. We haven't yet checked whether Epic Universe is inside Waymo's map, so look at the map in the app first. 4. Driving
Epic Universe has its own car parks next to the park. Regular parking was $32 (≈ £23.97) when Universal published its guide Universal blog. If you only need a car for one park day, the free shuttle or a $2 bus is the skint choice.
UK tickets that include Epic Universe
- Universal Orlando All Parks Ticket (14 days): Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe and Volcano Bay. Universal's own UK store lists it at £460 for 20 Oct–31 Dec dates (£468 earlier in the year) Universal UK store.
- Universal Three Park Adventure Ticket (14 days): Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe, but not Volcano Bay Universal UK store.
- Older tickets: some multi-park tickets sold before Epic opened don't include it. Check that "Epic Universe" is named on your ticket.

Express Pass and early entry
- Express Pass isn't included in UK tickets. A 1-Day Universal Express Pass for Epic Universe lets you skip the regular queue once per ride. It's from £123 on Universal's UK store, the price depends on the date, and you still need park admission Universal UK store.
- Early Park Admission is a perk for guests at Universal's own on-site hotels Universal Orlando Resorts. Partner hotels like the I-Drive Rosens don't get it, and their free shuttle doesn't run for early admission Rosen Inn.

Lockers
- Free while you ride: small lockers in the queues for Stardust Racers, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Hiccup's Wing Gliders Universal. Stardust Racers has a metal detector, and loose items aren't allowed on it Universal safety guide.
- All-day lockers (paid): large and family-size lockers by the park entrance. Universal says to check the price at the locker Universal. In March 2026, Disney Food Blog reported $15 and $20 Disney Food Blog.
- Skint tip: take a small bag you can carry on most rides, and use the free ride lockers. That way you don't need an all-day locker.

Food and water
- Water: Undercover Tourist reports bottle-refill stations around Epic Universe Undercover Tourist. Bring a refillable bottle, and leave it in a locker for the rides that need one.
- Mobile ordering: the Universal Orlando app does mobile food and drink ordering and virtual lines, so set it up and link your tickets before you go Universal blog.

Children under 48" (122cm) need a "Supervising Companion" aged 14 or over on rides with lower limits. Many rides have a test seat by the entrance so you can check the fit before queuing Universal heights safety guide.
Child Swap (rider switch)
If a child is too small or doesn't want to ride, queue together and tell a team member near the loading area that you want Child Swap. One adult waits with the child in the family room, the others ride, then you swap so the second adult doesn't have to queue again Universal.
Skint tips
- Book the shuttle seat the day before, in the lobby. It's free, and it saves $32 parking or a rideshare.
- Agree your top three rides before you go, and check heights for the children.
- Set up the Universal app with your tickets linked, for virtual lines and mobile ordering Universal blog.
- Pack light. The free ride lockers cover most needs.
- Check the last bus home, whether it's the hotel shuttle or LYNX, before you plan the evening.
